First Baptist Church
located in Graham, North Carolina is seeking a Pastor. The pastor shall be called by God, and dedicated to the ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Pastor shall be guided by the principles set forth in I Timothy 3:1-7. The Pastor shall instruct the congregation in religious truth. We look to the pastor to be the spiritual leader and teacher; and, to communicate faith-based, well-planned, meaningful worship services and programs.
All candidates must be licensed and ordained in the Baptist Church. The candidate shall seek both to lead the congregation as a visionary of God; and, to further grow the church. Theological education and work experience must be sufficient to provide for the ability to exercise intellectual and spiritual leadership for the congregation. A Bachelor's Degree in Theology, Divinity or Biblical Studies from an accredited institution is encouraged. All such education and work experience shall be verified.
A successful candidate will meet the following minimum criteria:
Licensed and Ordained Baptist Minister
Pastoral experience (3 - 6 years significant related ministry experience which includes experience in church administration
(e.g. Assistant Pastor, Senior Pastor, Associate Minister, Ministerial Leader)
Candidate's personal character and financial standing that is above reproach
Demonstrated ability to deliver sermons that are not only biblically sound; but that are also stimulating, inspirational, and
The following are primary duties of our pastor:
Serve as a spiritual leader for the congregation
Provide guidance and support for all ministries of the church
Effective Preacher, Teacher and Church Administrator
Communicate and listen confidentially during pastoral counseling
Plan and conduct worship service
Officiate weddings, funerals, baby dedications, etc.
Lead in administering the Holy ordinances of Baptism and Communion
Provide pastoral ministry to those experiencing illness, bereavement or other conditions
Demonstrate an ability to work with a diverse population, including the community
Support and Commit to the First Baptist Church Covenant, By-Laws, and Mission Statement
Able to collaborate with the deacons, trustees, officers and others to administer church business
Strong supporter of Youth Ministries/Programs
A love for the congregation's spiritual care and welfare
Schedule weekly office hours to meet with parishioners
Perform other duties as may be required

New Smith Grove Baptist Church
New Smith Grove Baptist Church is seeking candidates for the position of pastor. The church is located in a rural setting in Lexington, North Carolina. We have a 143 year history and a current membership of approximately 35 regular members.
Job Description: The pastor shall be the leader of worship, proclamation, education and pastoral ministries. The Pastor shall be responsible for leading the congregation, organization and Church staff in performing their duties. The Pastor is not responsible for doing all the work but to see that it is done properly. Visit and minister to member and prospective members in homes, nursing care facilities and hospitals. Demonstrate effective ways to witness and win the lost to salvation through Jesus Christ.
Responsibilities: The Pastor is responsible for leading the Church body in functioning as a New Testament Church. The Pastor is responsible for providing spiritual instruction and strategic leadership to the members, staff and ministries of the Church. It is the responsibility of the Pastor to understand and communicate well with all age groups (youth, senior, and adults) be an effective communicator of well prepared sermons. It is the responsibility of the Pastor to be a skilled counselor available to assist persons with personal and spiritual problems.
Qualifications: He shall be a save ordained Baptist minister, having served formerly as Pastor of a Baptist Church, and preferable married. The candidate for this position should exemplify the following twelve Biblically summarized qualities of pastor leaders as described in I Timothy, Chapter 3, and Titus, Chapter 1:
Personal character above reproach from inside and outside the church
Thoughtful, dignified, and self-controlled
Not a new believer
Not a substance abuser
Not violent, quick-tempered, quarrelsome, arrogant, or overbearing
Not a lover of money or a pursuer of dishonest gain
Gentle in his/her dealing with others
Upright and holy in his/her life before God
Loves what is good
If married, holds to faithful monogamy
An apt teacher who has mature in his knowledge of the faith, holds firm to sound doctrine and can impart it to others, and
can refute those who oppose it.
